Volca Beats and Dato

Hiya,

I’m new to midi land and just got a Volca beats. I’d like to sync it with Dato, but not sure if I’m doing it right. Currently I have midi out from the Dato going into the Volca beats ‘sync in’ and I hear nothing. I am pretty sure I set them both to channel one.

Also this is probably a stupid question but are the small midi sync cables the same as the bigger midi in / out cables?

Hi modemgirl,

there is no need to use the MIDI port. You can sync the Volca Beats and DUO with a 3.5mm jack-jack cable going from the DUO’s sync out to the Volca’s sync in (or the other way around). It doesn’t matter whether the cable is mono or stereo - both should work fine.
