Drum stuck in sync mode?

Hi there !

Happy owner of a Dato drum and Dato duo.

I got a problem with my Dato drum. Everything worked perfectly until yesterday. I plugged my drum to my Duo to Sync them, (which i did before without any problem) and since then, my drum seems to be stuck in sync mode. No sound, pressing play does nothing, and a full line of led is blinking white.

Did i do something wrong ? Did i pressed without knowing it some buttons while pluging electricaly the drum ?

What can i do to solve this ?

That’s unfortunate. The DRUM should work when no SYNC cable is inserted. Does the sequencer advance again if you feed in a SYNC signal from another device?

Thank you for your answer, i’ll do more tests asap and will let you know !

For the context i can add that the drum and duo were plugged on an 8 sockets powerstrip and the audio out of the Duo to the audio in of a Korg nu tekt nts3, but i can’t see how it could imply a stuck in Sync problem.

Also, the différent color buttons of the drum are responsive (on/off), so i guess it’s not bricked yet.

I’ll keep you in touch real soon with more details !

Hello again

So, not looking good…

I plugged the Drum Sync out to the Duo Sync in, the Duo works (play button and sound) but the Drum is still stuck with no play and no sound whatsoever. The Sync signal correctly comes from the Drum but i can’t change it at all.

Then i reversed the setup, Duo Sync out to Drum Sync in, the Sync signal goes correctly to the Drum (blinking speed when changing the tempo on the Duo changes on the Drum accordingly) but still, the Drum remains silent and pressing play does not do anything…

I also tried to turn off the Drum and move the tempo, then turn it on again, but the blinking speed doesn’t change at all.

:’(

(I use the Sync cable you gave with the Drum, oh and i tried to connect the Drum to your sample manager, it seems to be correctly recognized, although i did not try to change anything on that screen)

Any idea ?

Thank you for checking all that. It seems there is something wrong with the DRUM. We’ll contact you via email to arrange an exchange.

Hi, thank you for that, and sorry for the trouble
